Jin Watanabe

1887–1973

Born in Tokyo. Active in the early Shōwa era, he worked across a broad range, from historicist styles to modernism.

He designed buildings that remain beloved faces of their cities, such as the Wako Main Building (formerly K. Hattori & Co.) in Ginza and the Hotel New Grand in Yokohama.
