Kisho Kurokawa
1934–2007
Born in Aichi Prefecture. In the 1960s he was a core member of the Metabolism movement, gaining international renown through works such as the Nakagin Capsule Tower.
In later years he championed the "philosophy of symbiosis", designing museums, airports and urban plans in Japan and abroad, among them The National Art Center, Tokyo.
