Overview
Green steps rising from the park. A step garden that turns a building into a mountain.
A cultural and exchange centre opened in 1995. Its entire south face, stepping back in terraces towards the adjacent Tenjin Central Park, is planted as a "Step Garden", extending the park's greenery onto the building.
The concept design was by Emilio Ambasz. Over the years since opening, the planting has grown lush, and the building is cherished as a green mountain in the city.
