Overview

The summit of Minato Mirai. For twenty years, the tallest building in Japan.

A skyscraper opened in 1993 that became the symbol of the Minato Mirai 21 district in Yokohama. It was designed by Mitsubishi Estate (now Mitsubishi Jisho Design) together with The Stubbins Associates, the office of American architect Hugh Stubbins.

Its silhouette, flaring towards the base, was planned as the apex of the surrounding skyline. Until Abeno Harukas opened in 2014, it was the tallest building in Japan. On the 69th floor is the observation floor Sky Garden.
